A third soul saved!

Murray e-mailed yesterday to say that Mrs. Edith Stewart's grandson Jared from Frederiction professed to be saved on Tuesday. Wonderful news!

Cecil Morton has passed the following updates on Jacob Morton (from Renata) and on Claude McAloney's (from River Hebert) condition:
The MRI shows no infection and no increase in swelling. In fact the Neurosurgeon thinks that there may be some improvement (meaning the swelling has possible decreased a little). Jacob is booked for another MRI in two weeks.

The "pik" will be left in until Friday, incase any new symptoms appear. The doctors also feel that any inappropriate behaviour is a result of frustration rather than any damage from the accident.

Claude is recovering from a blood transfusion for platelets and is still in serious condition. Please pray for him and his wife, Millie.

Final(?) pictures uploaded

I'm still a bit jet-lagged from the flight back, but I'm slowly getting accustomed to the timezone (got up at 5am yesterday, 6am today). It's good to see my family again as I missed them. But honestly, I really enjoyed the maritime warmth, friendliness, and fellowship of the saints.

I went into work/school today and have begun preparing for teaching again. There's lots to do: computers were reimaged and there's glitches so I e-mailed the techs. I'm also going to have to cleanup the Physics room as there's still lots of stuff left behind by the teacher who just retired. It must be sorted/discarded/reorganized to make room for myself and the other teacher who will be using the room also.

Just uploaded the rest of the pictures from last Saturday, and Sunday.

I've e-mailed Murray for news on how the meetings are coming along and will make that known once I hear back from him.

On a funny note: I stepped on the scale at home right when I got in on Monday, and I did in fact lose about 6 lbs when I was back east. Pretty amazing! The goal now is to keep it some/most/all(?) of it off.

Back Home

Chuck Hurley drove me to the airport in the morning. We left at 8:15am and I arrived at the terminal by 9am giving me plenty of time to get my baggage checked-in.

My plane took-off at 11:05am AST and arrived in Vancouver at 4pm PST. There was a stop in Toronto and I had to switch flights in Calgary. I'm a bit tired, but overall it was a good flight back home. It's good to be home, although I have lots of work waiting for me.

I will uploaded the pictures I took yesterday in Sussex hopefully by tomorrow.

Murray is continuing the meetings for at least this week with Scott McCleod (PEI) helping him during his 2-week vacation. If I hear of any news, I will put them on this blog (I will not be posting entries daily since my trip out east has concluded). Thanks for reading and praying everybody!

Sussex Gospel Hall

Drove 1.5 hrs this morning to get to the Sussex Gospel Hall for their 10 am Breaking of Bread Meeting. I'll write up the rest tomorrow...too tired.

[Next day]

It was wonderful remembering the Lord and fellowshipping with the saints there. They were all very friendly. I had a brief word at the end of the meeting and was asked to give ministry after refreshments. I was nervous and trust that the Lord would bless what was spoken to the benefit of the believers.

Tim McCandless invited me over to his home for dinner afterwards, and I had an opportunity to get to know some of the younger believers in the assembly. I had a really nice time with them.

Following dinner, I followed Trevor and Sarah to Allen McCandless' home where I helped him configure his wireless network. Managed to get it all done by 5:10pm. I then drove back to Amherst, had dinner with Clyde and Bonita, and then went to the tent.

We had a good number out: 80+. As a result, the brethren brought more chairs in from the school. It was a nice way for me to conclude my time at the tent by saying farewell to so many who have supported the meetings. I was thankful that the Lord gave help throughout the day and in the evening meeting as well.

Trip to Wallace

I left mid-morning for Wallace to visit another relative of believers that has come out to the tent. I had a nice visit with her and her husband. Afterwards, I dropped by to visit Fred and Pearl Russell who invited me for lunch. That's my home away from home. :)

I showed them the weddinng photos, and worked on my laptop upstairs before heading back towards Amherst (45 minute drive). Brian and Brenda weren't home so I proceeded to Mrs. Stewart's home to pick up some clothes and use her computer. (She's been suffering from diverticulitis and knee pain, so please keep praying for her.) I was able to print out a letter, and upload a week's worth of photos onto my website using her high-speed internet connection. Yay! (E-mail me if you don't see a photo I took of you as I had to leave some out for time.) This includes yesterday's wedding photos.

I left after 6pm, bought gas at Irving, returned a rubbermaid container at Walmart, and came back to Bonita's for supper: corn on the cob, wieners and beans, and blueberry pie for dessert. I've just begun packing for home as my flight leaves Moncton @ 11:05 am, and am preparing for the Lord's Day.

Murray's son Allen invited me to break bread with the saints in Sussex, NB (Murray's home assembly) tomorrow to break bread and I am looking forward to it. It will take 1:30 hr to get there. Meeting is at 10am.

Murray informed me tonight that the Tent Meetings will continue another week with Scott McCleod taking over for me.

Congratulations Scott & Carrie!

I'm too tired, check back again for details and pictures tomorrow.

[Next day]

In the morning I made one visit to a relative of a believer that has not been coming out to meeting for quite sometime.

Afterwards, I went back to Clyde and Bonita's, made a lunch for sandwich, got changed and headed out for Tidnish Docks (30 minute drive from Amherst) at 12:30pm for Carrie and Scott's wedding at 2pm.

It's a beautiful spot for an outdoor wedding. It was sunny with a slight breeze which kept most of the mosquitoes at bay. I wore my Tilley hat to avoid getting sunburned. The green underside almost matched the colour of my suit.

Scott was late by 20 minutes. He had gotten lost enroute to the wedding which made for some tense moments. But the Lord worked it all out. After the ceremony, I hung around to take some pictures and chat with people. I really appreciated those of you that came up to me and said "Hi!" and introduced yourselves. Afterwards, I drove back to Amherst to the Knights of Columbus Hall where they had the reception at 6pm. The reception wound down at ~9:30pm and I headed back to Clyde's.

Afterwards, Bonita showed me the stars outside in the countryside. Amazing! You can clearly see the Milky Way and many constellations that are normally obscured by the bright city lights back home in Vancouver.

Another Soul Saved!

Murray went over this morning to visit Thomas Turkington, Ken and Esther's youngest son staying in Oxford with his grandmother so he could come to the tent. How wonderful to hear that he wanted to be saved. Murray said they had a good conversation and he left him after a word of prayer at the end. In the afternoon after reading the scriptures, he entered into the truth of 1John 1:7, that his sins were washed away by the precious blood of Christ. He told Murray after the Gospel Meeting that he had gotten saved earlier in the day. Hallelujah!

Murray and I visited 2 contacts this afternoon: one older, one younger. Both of these women are related to the saints and we hope to see them out more often to the tent.

It was sunny and warm today. We had 30+ people out tonight. A good turn-out given that the Hurley family is away at the wedding rehearsal.
