Pugwash Junction
[I've just added a link on the RHS to the pictures I took in 2004 for any that wish to compare photos.]
Breaking of bread starts at 10am at Pugwash Junction. I left the apartment in Amherst at 9am and arrived at 9:45am. It was good to remember the Lord there with the saints in the assembly. Mr. and Mrs. Blair were there, too. (They leave for Vancouver by car on Tuesday.) I gave a word of ministry from the book of Exodus afterwards.
After the meeting (no Sunday School nor Bible reading in the summer), I wanted to visit Bill Bingham's grave for a moment since I didn't attend his funeral in Oct. 2004. Most will know that he encouraged me in Gospel work since 2000, and I was privileged to preach with him in his last Gospel series in Tatamagouche, NS in the summer of 2004 before he was called home to Heaven. He was a man that I admired and respected very much. We all miss him. It was very quiet and peaceful at the Eaton Cemetary just past the hall by 1-2 km. Also sunny, with a slight breeze. I like the inscription on his tombstone which he shares with his wife: Redeemed.
Jerry Thompson and I then drove back to his home where we enjoyed a lovely meal and nice time of fellowship with his wife Anne, and youngest daughter Melissa, who just graduated from highschool. Leanne is in Calgary working as a nanny and will be coming home to NS soon. Fred and Pearl Russell were there, too, which was great. Afterwards, I walked across the street to visit Jerry's mother Frances Thompson and her sister Evelyn, two aged-saints that are managing despite the health problems associated with old-age. We also had a nice time of fellowship and before I left back for Amherst, I had a word of prayer.
Driving 45 minutes in the hot humid afternoon sure can be tiring especially on the single lane Hwy 6 Sunrise Trail. I've discovered that it's easy to lose one's concentration. Thankfully, I had some mints in my Bible bag and the knowledge that the Lord watches over His own.
The flea-market wrapped up by the time the Gospel meeting started with only a few vendors remaining. We had perhaps 35-45 people out at the tent with some unsaved present. Afterwards, Murray and Shirley (his wife) drove back to Sussex with Chloe Wood. He's flying a plane to Boston tomorrow morning to transport people as part of his sons' tent rental business. Chloe has joined them to learn what it's like flying a small plane (she's interested in becoming a pilot). Murray should be back in time for meeting. Boy, he sure is "go, go, go!"
