Cumberland Lodge Gospel outreach
Left at 9:30am for Pugwash as Fred Russell had invited me to have a word in the Gospel at the Cumberland Lodge. I arrived at the seniors home at 10:10am. Gospel Meeting starts at 10:30am. My topic was Nicodemus (an older man getting saved) in John 3.
Afterwards, I went to Fred and Pearl's home (my "home-away-from-home" for 4 summers in NS) for a meal and nice time of fellowship. Then I briefly visited the older woman across the street from them who was involved in a car accident recently. She professes but it's hard to tell if she's really got it. Had a brief word of prayer and then headed out to visit Connie and her brother Kenneth Weatherby both in their 80's. Both of them are very kind and exercised saints. They get out to meetings and invite others to come hear the Gospel. Such a good testimony. It's nice to see them carrying on when I know of others who have reduced their spiritual labours in their latter years. Given the small size of assemblies here, it's very encouraging to see so many aged saints still actively carrying the torch for God in various ways, though difficult the road may be.
After a brief word of prayer with them, I headed back to Amherst to meet Murray at the hall where we went to meet an unsaved relative of believers. We had a nice visit, and conversation which concluded after Murray prayed. After getting some groceries, he dropped me back at the apartment where I got ready for the meeting.
I finished off Mrs. Stewarts chowder for supper. Very tasty.
We had perhaps 30-40 people out at the tent tonight.
