A day to get caught up

Went grocery shopping this morning at Superstore. Bought gas, bread, peanut butter, and a roast chicken. That should hold me over for a few days. I had some bread and chicken for lunch. The chicken tastes the same as the kind from Superstore in BC.

Murray and Shirley are spending time with the grandchildren today at the beach which gives me the opportunity to finish uploading the pictures I took these past few days. I gladly welcome a day to catch my breath and catch-up on correspondence. The pictures should be up now. Otherwise, let me know.

Murray's sister Esther seems to have come through the thyroid cancer operation successfully and is now waiting to get the test results back which will take a few weeks yet.

The "airbag deployed" indicator on the VW Beetle dashboard showed up last week and has stayed on. Then this past Sunday, the "check engine" indicator lit up. Murray says it's an electrical problem and nothing to worry about. I told him that "he's a man of faith." ;)

I had a very good supper at Mrs. Stewart's tonight (just like all the previous times I've been over there.) and used her computer to print out a letter. It's encouraging to see her carrying on (and having her usual big smile) given the pain in her knees. "It won't do any good complaining, anyways", she says. Please pray for her.

Gladys Wheaton brought over some biscuits she baked. They are tasty! I've appreciated all her assistance, especially when I'm trying to find something in the apartment. I also just finished those yummy desert squares Sylvia Stewart-Pitts made. (She also gave me some cinammon cookies she baked 2 weeks ago.) With all this good food, I'm going to have to watch my weight!

Murray went to visit a contact that this man's son-in-law (who lives next door) wanted us to talk to. Evidently Murray and him had a good conversation.

We had a full tent out tonight, perhaps 50 people out with at least one woman from the community. Murray visited spoke to a man yesterday who said he would come out last night but he was a no-show and didn't come today either. Good to see numerous Christians' children out. Ken and Esther Turkington and their family were out, too. Everyone listened well.

After meeting, I diagnosed a problem that Murray's friend was having with his laptop: dead BIOS battery or outdated BIOS (according to Google).

Baby Joel Hunt got his foot caught on a cord yesterday while his mom Angie was making dinner and knocked over a pot of beans on his leg which scalded him. He was taken to emergency, treated for 2nd and 3rd degree burns, and released later that afternoon. He was given medication for the pain and was fairly cheery due to his medicated state. Please pray for him.

Chuck Hurley went to visit his grandson in Moncton hospital who appears healthy after his premature birh and seems to be gaining weight normally. He also visited Jacob Morton who has shown some signs of improvement.

Bonita Elliott is going in for gall bladder surgery tomorrow at 10:30 am. Kent Scott's grandfather in PEI is doing very poorly as his health is failing. He professes to be saved, but has not been baptized. Please pray for all these saints and their children.
