Halifax Bible Conference Day 1

Murray picked me up at the apartment at 6:45am and we drove down together in the VW Beetle. It was overcast in the morning but turned into a sunny day. He drove me to the Hall in Halifax and I took a picture.

We then went to the Full Gospel Church which may be the site of the new hall. Frank Tournaquindicci opened 1John 1, Murray did 1John 2, and Ken Taylor did 1John 3. I enjoyed the Bible reading and meeting a number of the Christians. (Some of them also remembered me from previous visits out east.) It was a bit hard to concentrate though because it was very hot in the building and I was wearing my suit jacket.

During Murray's session, I spoke to the children downstairs from 2-2:30pm at the invitation of Matthew Cain before heading back upstairs.

For the Gospel Meeting, I took off my suit jacket after consulting with Albert Hull. Murray and Frank T. spoke in the Gospel after supper: powerful!

I stayed for the sing afterwards to get the full experience. This is the first time ever that I've stayed overnight at a conference, so I am rather excited about the whole experience. I'm now writing this blog in a hotel room (Holiday Inn Express) that John Wells arranged for me to pay a discounted rate (I didn't want them to pick up the tab.) It has a complimentary high speed internet connection which is awesome, and I get a continental breakfast in the morning with the room--cool! This will allow me to get a good night's sleep in preparation for the Morning Meeting tomorrow at 10am, and for the Gospel at night as Murray and I will head back to Amherst after the last afternoon session.

Little Joel Hunt is doing better. (Terry and Angie brought their whole family down for the weekend.) Good to see Doris Taylor there, too, with her husband Ken.

I just noticed that my left ankle has 8 mosquito bites and my right ankle has 4--*sigh*--welcome to Nova Scotia. I must have got them the previous night in the tent, but didn't notice them until today. Sadly, the bugs here like Chinese food, too :(...oh well, it comes with the job. Good night, everybody. :)
