Halifax Bible Readings Day 2

I'm too tired to write tonight. Check back tomorrow.

[Next day...]

I had a good night's rest in the hotel room. There was a T.V. in the suite, but I refrained from using it, given it's mind-emptying/numbing properties. ;) My source of news was the complimentary newspaper I was given. Had a continental breakfast compliments of the room which was nice...milk, banana, PBJ sandwich (my first since I got here).

Morning Meeting at the Full Gospel church (sounds weird doesn't it?) was at 10am so I checked out of the hotel at 9:20am, drove for about 12 minutes, and arrived with about 23 minutes to spare. The Halifax brethren used chairs around the base of the stage at the front where the emblems were situated for a few brave souls to sit and face the audience. The rest of us sat in the pews 4 rows deep with a back seat "at the back" of course for children and others not in fellowship. I sat in the first row/pew on the right hand side with brother Don Harding from New Glasgow beside a fan. :) The Meeting went from 10am to 11:50am with a brother giving thanks for the emblems at around 11:10am. Frank T. got up and gave a word on Isaiah 6 which was good.

We then went for lunch downstairs. I had a nice chat with missionary Ken Turkington from Venezuela who arrived in Halifax with his family this morning. He took part during the Morning Meeting. (He and his family have come to our tent meetings twice in Amherst in previous weeks.)

In the afternoon, Sinclair Banks (I like his Scottish accent) covered 1John4 followed by Albert Hull finishing 1John5. We had a break in between which as nice. Once the Bible reading finished, Murray and I left right away back to Amherst which would be a 2+ hour drive. A brother from the Moncton asembly named Richard also came with us who took the train down to Halifax. I drove while Murray relaxed in the back seat to prepare for the meeting (he was opening). The saints sent us away with a meal, which we ate in the car. I learned how to use cruise-control which came in handy.

We arrived at the tent at 7:20pm. The brethren were praying in Murray's trailer already. I'm sure they were happy to see us pull into the school grounds. :) We had 40 out to the tent last night with some new faces which was encouraging. A few saints from Moncton also joined us with their families. Wilma Patterson also had some family come as well: her niece and her friend from Connecticut. Both of them looked like they were believers. Scott McCleod and his family also made the trip from Halifax enroute to PEI and joined us in the tent. Good to see Bonita Elliott out, too, after her operation.

After the meeting, we discovered that Richard didn't have a ride back to Moncton, and there was no bus service running until the next day so Murray and I agreed that I would drive him back to Moncton (45 minute trip one way). The Lord watched over us, and we had a nice time of fellowship in the car as we left Amherst at ~ 9:30pm, and I returned back to the apartment before midnight. Murray is going to PEI at 6am to help his sons' tent business over on the Island. They have a big job to do and needed his help. "Mr. go-go-go" should be back in time for meeting tomorrow night. He's amazing!
